Behind the Scenes

With this initiative, our goal is to promote and create meaningful opportunities for our children that have limited access to the world around them. With access to the right resources, children can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential. Valuable Life Lessons

Linking & Connecting Community Partners

At Camp Summer Quest, we are dedicated to stepping up our collaboration efforts in addressing the educational crisis in our community. Caring Community Leaders share their transparent stories of sorrow and joy with our vulnerable children. Our resilient and diligent youth

quickly learn that success is inevitable when we NEVER give up. Limited Access to a high quality education and life challenges never stop us from learning and growing each day. Bridging the Gap is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate academic gains and social progress in this area of education. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.

Recreation

Learning through Play

"Learning through play is a term used in education and psychology to describe how a child can learn to make sense of the world around them. Through play children can develop social and cognitive skills, mature emotionally, and gain self-confidence required to engage in new experiences and environments."

Children select the activities they want to do:

indoor/outdoor games

music: piano, drums, guitar

watch a movie

play on the computer

or relax and observe.

The children experience the privilege and power of choice.

READ! READ! READ!

Bridging the Gap

At Camp Summer Quest, we are determined to increase the graduation success rate of African American children and close the achievement gap.  We are relentless in making sure our reluctant and struggling readers know HOW to read and HOW to understand what they read.  Our day begins with prayer and daily Bible reading.  No more excuses. No more broken promises. No more stolen dreams. No more underutilized gifts of our young people. They will fulfill their god-given assignment with the help of family, friends, and neighbors. We appreciate the collective community effort to help our children build literacy skills through reading. Let us to continue to link and connect our efforts together.
